One of the largest City Beautiful complexes in the country, this impressive group of buildings was part of an ongoing response to a movement as a result of what was showcased at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

City Hall, the crown jewel of our City Center, was the proud child of Mayor ("Sunny") Jim Rolph. Designed by Ecole-des-Beaux-Arts-trained Bakewell and Brown, it was constructed between 1913 and 1915. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Renaissance Revival architecture in the country.
